Ao Nang is approximately 25 kilometers from Krabi Airport. Since there’s no train from the airport to Ao Nang, all public transport options are by road.

The travel time is around 30 to 45 minutes, and the cost is about $18 for a car, which isn’t a big difference with the shuttle bus at the airport. And you won’t wait for or travel with other people!
This option allows you to save time standing in long lines. Plus, the driver will wait for you in the airport’s arrival halls.
You can save money by pre-booking a private car or van.
And the part that you’ll get is that they have modern cars, perfect to start the vacation the right way.

Book a Shuttle in Ao Nang Town
There are dozens of agencies and sellers selling bus tickets to Krabi international airport, but also Krabi Town, Koh Lanta, Railay Beach, and island hopping tours.
And this is the best way to get to Krabi Airport from Ao Nang Beach.
Generally, buses generally leave each hour, and I recommend leaving 3 hours before your flight departs.
Krabi Airport gets quite crowded in peak season and getting there early is a wise choice. You can check your flight’s status in real-time here, which is pretty convenient when traveling.
You can buy a bus ticket as late as the night before, which gives you plenty of time.

Book a Shuttle at the Ao Nang Hotel

Songthaew, a shared public bus, is the cheapest way to get from Ao Nang to Krabi Airport. This is the perfect option for adventurous but on a tight budget.
Generally, the travel time is around 1.5 hours, and the cost is 80 Baht.
I recommend getting on the street early as they might not show up immediately, and you may have to wait for one to pass by. You cannot book a Songthaew ahead of time, which is the negative side.
To find a songthaew, you only need to walk outside your hotel, cross the road, and wave to the driver.
