How to Get to Siem Reap?
Getting to Siem Reap is easier than you might think. If you’re flying, you can get to Siem Reap International Airport from different airports around Asia.
If you’re already exploring Cambodia, buses and taxis from Phnom Penh or other cities are a good bet. They’re affordable and offer a real taste of the journey through Cambodia’s countryside.
Alternatively, if you’re in Thailand, you can get a bus from Bangkok, which is what I did and it was nice seeing the countryside of both countries in one day.
Is Siem Reap Worth Visiting?
Siem Reap is definitely worth visiting for a variety of reasons. Beyond the gateway to the Angkor temples, the city itself has many things to offer, from its bustling night markets to Pub Street to traditional Apsara dance performances and more.
Plus, Siem Reap serves as a base for exploring nearby attractions such as the floating villages on Tonle Sap Lake and the Cambodian Cultural Village, making it a diverse travel destination.
Lastly, it’s one of the cheapest places in Southeast Asia, and that is always a bonus.
