Huay To Waterfall, located within the Khao Phanom Bencha National Park, is one of Krabi’s natural gems, and if you like waterfalls, you’ll be in for a treat!
In fact, the waterfall features five cascades, each flowing into large, clear pools that are perfect for cooling off on a hot day.
Surrounded by tropical forest, the waterfall is fed by water from the park’s highest mountain, and it’s a refreshing and picturesque spot for picnics and relaxing.
You’ll find a variety of wildlife in the area around Huay To Waterfall, including birds and small mammals, adding to the charm of a visit here.
The hike to the waterfall is relatively easy for most fitness levels and ideal for families.
The catch? It’s a little further from the popular areas in Krabi, and you’ll have to drive a motorbike for about 1 hour from Ao Nang or join one of the day trips available to get there. That being said, it’s very much worth it if you have extended time in Krabi.

While there are a few night markets in the Ao Nang area in Krabi, I recommend you go into Krabi Town proper and see the night market there, which is about 30-45 minutes drive from Ao Nang Beach.
The night market is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 6 PM to 11 PM (10 PM no Fridays), and you’ll find pretty much everything you need from local Thai dishes to international food and souvenirs.
While it’s not nearly as big as the night markets in Chiang Mai, it’s definitely a nice place to spend a couple of hours during the weekend.
Apart from that, I recommend coming to Krabi Town early, around 4 or 5 PM and take a boat Khao Khanab Nam, two majestic limestone cliffs that form a gateway to Krabi River and are considered the symbol of Krabi.
You’ll stop at a cave with plenty of (friendly) monkeys and take a longtail boat tour around the mangrove forest. I did that during my time in Thailand (I lived there during the pandemic) and I had a great time.
