Yes, Ko Larn is an absolute paradise. Just a quick ferry ride from Pattaya you arrive to the most beautiful island oasis complete with crystal turquoise water and fine white sand beach that would be hard to top anywhere in Thailand!
So Maybe you’ve heard Koh Larn is a trek for tourists and most of the visitors come from nearby Pattaya, but in all honesty it still feels somewhat like a “hidden gem”. With its secluded beaches and interesting coral reefs to snorkelling in, everything in Koh Larn looks lovely.
Of course while exploring, you’ll be able to enjoy fantastic seafood and fresh coconuts. Does theme of spending lazy days on a deserted beach sipping fresh coconuts appeal to you? Well, it did to us.
Is Koh Larn Cheap?
Koh Larn is a relatively cheap place to visit compared to other islands. You can find accommodation for as little as 500 baht per night and meals for less than 100 baht. So, if you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy some beautiful beaches, Koh Larn is definitely worth a visit.
What Area to Stay in Koh Larn?
Consider staying at a guesthouse or hotel close to Na Baan Pier. You can go directly to Koh Larn from Bali Hai Pier at Pattaya, and most guesthouses pick up their guests at this point and rent out their motorcycles.
The location makes it easy to travel around Koh Larn during the day and get back by the night.
How Long to Stay on the Island?
Since it is highly affordable and close to Pattaya, consider spending at least 2 full days here. If you have 3 days, you’ll get to see some of the other beaches, visit all main viewpoints, and try all of the tasty Thai food on Ko Larn.
How to Get Around in Ko Larn?
The most convenient mode of transport is the motorcycle once you’re on the island. You can rent one for about 250 to 300 baht every day. Cars are not available on the island, so the need to rent one is eliminated.
Alternatively, take a day trip to Koh Larn, and let your tour guide take you to all areas of the island. This is the best method if you’re looking for an easy option and is convenient for one day trips.
Conclusion
To summarize, Tawaen Beach is among the better beaches on the island, where you’re probably not going to receive more abundance and better things when it comes to food options and beer on the majority of beaches.
Recommend staying at Tawaen Beach Resort and hiring a scooter when you arrive and then you get your base for a couple of days sorted too, how good can it get.
