Mirador Virgen del Rocío is a great spot to take in some of the best views in Ronda. It’s a little outside the city yet within walking distance, it’s quiet, and you’ll find both locals and amazing views.
Stand next to the statue of the Virgin del Rocío and enjoy the view. It’s a perfect place for a great photo or just a quiet moment to soak it all in.
I went in the morning and got to see some amazing views. Definitely a great way to start my visit to Ronda. Here’s what you need to know before you go.

Mirador Virgen del Rocío in Ronda: Summary
Let’s start with the basics about the viewpoint. Where it is, how to get there, and the best time to visit.
Where is Mirador Virgen del Rocío in Ronda?
The Mirador Virgen del Rocío is on the cliffs of the Tajo, near the Sagrada Familia area in Ronda. The area is known for its amazing views and the statue of the Virgin del Rocío, which was added in 2005.
It’s not as crowded as Mirador de Aldehuela (mostly due to the location), so if you’re looking for a quieter place with a great view, this is it.
How to Get to Mirador Virgen del Rocío?
If you’re starting from the center, you can walk there if you don’t mind a bit of a climb. I parked here near the train station, which was close enough to walk just 10 minutes to the viewpoint. It was also relatively near the new bridge and Plaza de Toro, so that’s a plus for me.
The short walk was worth it and the view did not disappoint. If you’re visiting Ronda as a day trip from Seville, you can fit this stop into your itinerary along with the famous white villages.

Best Time to Visit
It’s best to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon. That way, you avoid the strong sun, and the lighting is much better for photos.
I got there around 8:00 AM in November, just as the sun was rising. The soft sunlight over the landscape made the whole view even more special. I’m the best photographer in the world but these pictures should give you a good idea of what to expect.
What to Expect at Mirador Virgen del Rocío
Truth be told, there’s no much to do at the viewpoint or around. That said, it’s peaceful and you get incredible views of the Andalusian countryside. It’s quiet, it’s scenic, and it’s a great place to take in the beauty of Ronda. That can’t be said about other places in Ronda: The village is really crowded, especially in the summertime.
The main feature here is the statue of the Virgin del Rocío, an important spiritual symbol for many. Of course, let’s not forget about the rolling hills stretching far into the distance.
You’ll also notice colorful ceramic tiles around the statue, decorated with traditional religious and regional designs. They add to the unique atmosphere in my opinion.
Another plus? It’s way less crowded than other places in Ronda, like Mondragón Palace or La Casa del Gigante. You’ll probably only see a handful of people around.
If you’re lucky, you might even spot an ibex (a wild mountain goat). I saw one while I was there, which was a cool surprise!
Where to Stay in Ronda?
If you’re planning a one-day trip to Ronda, that’s great, but spending a night is even better. The best spot? Ronda Old Town, where you’ll be within walking distance of all the must-see places.

It’s not just about the view but I would say about the feeling. The warm sun, the cool breeze, and the statue of the Virgin overlooking the valley all make this place special.
