Welcome to Spain.

Spain Travel Tips 🇪🇸

Spain uses the Euro (€) as its currency. Conveniently exchange money at airports, banks, or ATMs. Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s good to carry some cash for small purchases. Keep an eye on exchange rates to get the best deals!

For many travelers, entering Spain is easy. EU citizens don’t need a visa, while others might. Check your country’s requirements well in advance. Tourist visas typically allow a 90-day stay in the Schengen Area.

Spain shines year-round, but the best time to visit is during spring (March-May) or fall (September-November). Enjoy pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and colorful festivals. Summer (June-August) offers sunny beaches but can be hot and busy. Winters are mild, perfect for exploring cities without the rush.

Most companies require drivers to be at least 21 and have a valid driver’s license. Remember, Spaniards drive on the right. Roads are well-maintained, and signage is clear, making for a comfortable driving experience.

Ideally, spend at least 10 days to soak in the vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and historical sites.

Cities like Madrid and Barcelona warrant 2-3 days each. Include a few days for relaxing on the beaches or exploring the countryside.

Spain is generally safe for tourists, known for its friendly locals and relaxed atmosphere. Like any popular destination, stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas.

Use common sense for personal safety and belongings. Emergency services are reliable and responsive in case you need help.

In Spain’s major cities and tourist areas, many people speak English, especially younger generations. In smaller towns or rural areas, English is less common. Knowing some basic Spanish phrases will make interactions with locals more fun!

Knowing a few Spanish words can go a long way! Start with ‘Hola‘ (Hello), ‘Gracias‘ (Thank you), ‘Por favor‘ (Please), ‘¿Cuánto cuesta?‘ (How much does it cost?), ‘Dónde está…?‘ (Where is…?), and ‘Adiós‘ (Goodbye). These basics will help you navigate and connect with locals.
